Spring, that is…
And the hills and valleys are greening up…

Our winter was not too bad, and even though we still may get a blizzard, today it is just wonderful. The warm sun feels absolutely delicious on my face! There is a chill in the air, and the breeze reminds me that my earmuffs still need to be worn, but today, I am loving it!

The dogs and I hiked up to the top of the ridge south of the house, onto Robert’s Trail in the Pine Ridge Recreational Area. We cut across on game trails and then along an old no-longer-used postal route to catch the morning mist come off the surrounding buttes.

Hiking along the old postal road, long abandoned by our rural mail carrier, but still used by wild game.

I could hear our resident Golden Eagle pair to my north as they swooped around Chimney Butte, then dived behind it. From my vantage point I had nearly 360 degree panoramic view.
